My Mission
My mission at Antique Tintypes is to provide the most relevant searches for tintypes, daguerreotypes, ambrotypes, stereoscopic cards, and all other forms of mid-nineteenth to early-twentieth century photographs currently available online for the best prices.
I also provide descriptions of what each photograph is, a brief history, what to look for when purchasing, and anything else I think you might find interesting.
How I Do It
I refine the searches as best I can to eliminate low-quality products. I recognize sellers who repeatedly provide reproduction prints or poor quality results and remove them from the searches as best I can. I research early photographic history (but admittedly slower than many) and update my pages with more specific content.
If you would like to provide feedback for me on how to help provide better online searches for early photographs, please contact me and let me know how I can help you.
